Collaborative aims to shape up health of region

A health collaborative started by the Danville Regional Foundation is working with the state health department to improve public health in the Dan River Region.
Annie Martinie, the foundation’s senior program officer, presented the Dan River Region Health Collaborative Update to the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors Monday night.
The collaborative compiled national and state figures on obesity, access to exercise, diabetes, access to health care, fruit and vegetable consumption and other indicators.
