Danville residents are three times less likely to meet daily fruit and vegetable intake recommendations. They are three times as likely to deal with issues of food insecurity and about half as likely to meet physical activity recommendations.
The local population has a lower likelihood of having normal weight along with a high likelihood of being overweight or obese. About 32 percent of rural residents and 44 percent in urban settings are obese. Considering a focused population base of public housing residents, nearly half of the population is obese at 48 percent.
