Rock d'Block in Danville

Organized by Mothers Stronger Twogether, a group of parents committed to ending gun violence in Danville, Taylor Drive Park was filled with free entertainment for the community’s youth and families during its first-ever Rock D’Block. Officers from Danville’s police and fire departments joined in the block party, watching the kids play in the free basketball tournament and serving up burgers. The group also invited college coaches and athletes to speak at the event in addition to local entertainers. The block party was put on in collaboration with several organizations, including the Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Virginia Department of Health, Opportunity Neighborhoods and other groups.
